Current & Upcoming Gallery Exhibits & Events...

The Peace Center/Gallery will be closed until Saturday, August 23rd, 2014.  We are thankful for your your support this past year and look forward to seeing you in late summer.

We will be coming in to stock the Little Free Library which is on the sidewalk out front.  It has proved to be successful beyond our hopes.  If you have any books to donate, please leave them at the reception desk at the church. They will be much appreciated.

The Office will be staffed intermittently during the summer and you can leave a message for us at 313.343.9082.

Falling Into Place: self-portraits by Patricia Lay Dorsey

Patrica Lay-Dorsey was diagnosed with chronic (primary) progressive multiple sclerosis in 1988, and in 2008 began taking self-portraits with the intention of showing from the inside the day-to-day life of a person with a disability. She calls the project Falling Into Place. The photographs chronicle the struggles and achievements of the artist as she learns to accept the limitations of her body and celebrate her abilities rather than her disability. Taken together, the images build a compelling narrative about the artist’s daily life that is both moving and offers a fascinating insider perspective. For more on the exhibit click here.
